St.Louis' Shamanic Percussion Band
Amalghemy is a percussion band comprised of members from Atlanta, Illinois and St. Louis. Building upon their name, a fusion of Amalgamation + Alchemy, they are taking drumming to dimensions still unseen. Moving audiences beyond typical expectations on race gender and drumming, the group has both a female and male drummers who collectively use music to show how drumming can serve as both a culturally viable tool and universal language to bridge people across, with, and through perceived differences. Some of their instruments include: Dombeks, Djembes, Flutes, Cymbals, Digideroo, Shamanic Frame Drums, Rattles, Shakers, Cowbells, Cajons, Bongos, Congas, and more.
